Senate President Receives Visit from Lao PM

PHNOM PENH: Senate President Say Chhum has also received a courtesy visit from Lao Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh on Tuesday. The visit was to ensure establishing a stronger relationship between leaders in Cambodia and Laos.

The official visit of the Lao Prime Minister is to strengthen the bond, solidarity and brotherhood between the neighboring countries. They are also promoting the cooperation within the ASEAN framework for peace, stability and prosperity in the regional and international level.

Senate President Say Chhum has congratulated Laos on its development from being a low-income country to middle-income country. They have also discussed about Cambodia-Vietnam-Laos triangle area and have prepared to set up a Cambodia-Laos border post next year.

Phankham Viphavanh is a new Prime Minister of Laos elected by the Lao National Assembly in March 2021. He was previously Vice President of Laos, Minister of Education of Laos and President of the Lao-Vietnam Friendship Association.
